L1 Visas

The L1 is a non-immigration visa. It helps employees (visa applicant) move between different countries for their jobs. It is like a bridge connecting employees (visa applicant) and companies (sponsor) across borders.

L1 visas offer many benefits for both companies and employees. Companies can quickly send their skilled employees to their offices in the United States. This helps keep projects running smoothly and businesses moving forward.   By moving employees between countries, companies can share important knowledge and skills.  L1 visas can also allow companies to expand their business.  The L1 visa makes it easier for them to send key employees to start new ventures or manage existing ones within the United States.

There are two types of L1 visas: L-1A and L-1B. The L-1A visa is for managers and executives who are sent to work in the United States. To apply for an L1A visa, eligible employees must have a position where they manage people or important tasks in the company.  Also, the companies in the employees’ home countries and those in the United States must be related. Employees with this visa can stay in the United States for up to seven years.

The L-1B visa is for employees with special skills who are sent to work in the United States. Employees must have skills or knowledge that are important for the company. Employees with this visa can stay in the United States for up to five years. Just like the L-1A visa, the company in the employee’s home country and the one in the United States must be related.

To apply for an L1 visa, employees must have worked for the company abroad for at least one year in the past three years. It is also important employees with L1 visas can only work for the company that sponsored their visa.

L1 visas are a big help for employees and companies working across borders. They make it easier for core employees to work in the United States, share knowledge, and grow businesses. To apply for an L1 visa, it is important to understand the rules and plan carefully. The attorneys at Tanner Law Offices can assist you with your case process or need more information.
